As of next week, I am going to be volunteering in the Communications and Creative Services department of the main branch of my city's library. Not only will this be a great opportunity to learn more about the wider world of editing and writing from some amazing and talented individuals, it will also mean being surrounded by books all day!
This experience absolutely will not affect my editing work. I am only volunteering for a few hours one day a week, so I will have plenty of time to work with all the incredible authors who use my services, and hopefully some new faces too.
